About Mimi
Hi, I’m Mimi (they/them, she/her). I’m a cosplayer, maker, anime superfan, and performer who loves bringing bold characters to life.
I’m a huge anime fan, and my favorite series is My Hero Academia. When it comes to cosplay, I love two very different kinds of characters: badass girl superheroes and pretty anime boys. Both are incredibly fun to build and perform, and each one lets me explore different styles of costuming and character expression.
My favorite material to work with is EVA foam. I love how versatile it is and how you can turn simple foam into armor, props, and detailed costume pieces. Building things with my hands and figuring out how to turn an idea into something real is one of my favorite parts of cosplay.
Outside of cosplay, I’m very active. I love gymnastics, skateboarding, and running, and movement is a big part of how I connect with the characters I play. I’m also a big fan of musical theater. Two of my favorite characters are Elphaba from Wicked and Queen Anne Boleyn from Six, because they’re powerful, dramatic, and a little bit rebellious.
I live with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), which means my body sometimes works differently than people expect. Because of that, I care a lot about making cosplay and fandom spaces more accessible and welcoming for everyone.
Cosplay should be a place where anyone can express themselves, be creative, and have fun—no matter their body, their abilities, or where they come from.
For me, cosplay is about creativity, confidence, and joy. And honestly… it’s also about looking awesome while doing it.
