Events
The Kergan Sisters love showing up in person—whether it’s to cosplay, compete, learn, and meet other makers, or to share what we’ve learned with other kids and teens. This page includes the events we’re planning to attend, plus any workshops, panels, or meet-and-greets we’re scheduled for (when available). If you’re an event organizer interested in booking a youth-friendly cosplay session focused on sustainable making, beginner builds, or performance, please reach out through our contact page.
Panels & Workshops
Chaos to Cosplay
Cosplay often feels expensive, complicated, and out of reach, but it doesn’t have to be. This session breaks cosplay down into simple, approachable methods using accessible materials, beginner-friendly techniques, and a focus on creativity over perfection.
Beyond construction, this panel addresses the often-overlooked skills of cosplay: comfort, durability, and presence. Attendees will leave not only knowing how to build, but also how to confidently wear and enjoy their cosplay in a convention environment.
Attendees will leave able to:
-
Design a readable cosplay using silhouette, color, and key identifiers
-
Select appropriate materials and adhesives for common builds
-
Apply beginner-friendly sewing and foam techniques
-
Build effectively using thrifted and repurposed materials
-
Improve comfort, durability, and mobility for con wear
-
Approach cosplay with confidence and practical expectations
Cosplay, Cons & Kids
Cosplay conventions can be overwhelming for parents, especially if you’re new to fandom or just trying to support your child’s interests. Cosplay, Cons & Kids is a practical, welcoming session designed to help families navigate conventions with confidence, safety, and fun.
Led by Kergan Mom and Dad alongside the Kergan Sisters, this panel offers both parent and cosplayer perspectives. It covers everything from what to expect at a convention to how to prepare, support your child’s creativity, and enjoy the experience together even if you’re not a fan yourself.
This session focuses on real-world guidance: planning your day, managing energy and budgets, understanding cosplay norms, and helping kids feel confident and safe in a busy con environment.
