The Kergan Sisters, Sable and Mimi
Our Cosplay Journey
The Kergan Sisters, Sable (14) and Mimi (11), are a sister cosplay team known for their creativity, craftsmanship, and commitment to sustainability. Based in California, they design and build their own cosplays using repurposed and eco-friendly materials—turning recycled fabric, EVA foam scraps, thrifted clothing, and even wood and metal into incredible costumes and props.
What began as a shared love for dressing up has grown into a passion for handmade, sustainable cosplay and helping other kids get started. For the past two years, Sable and Mimi have been learning advanced maker techniques including sewing, foam fabrication, 3D printing, and light woodworking—all while inspiring a new generation of young cosplayers to create with confidence and care for the planet.
At conventions and community events, The Kergan Sisters host interactive maker tables where kids can try simple craft techniques, learn about upcycling materials, and discover how fun and affordable cosplay can be. They also share tutorials, behind-the-scenes videos, and eco-friendly crafting tips through social media to make cosplay more accessible to beginners everywhere.
Whether they’re teaching kids how to “cosplay from their closet,” leading a sustainable prop-building challenge, or debuting their latest handmade builds, The Kergan Sisters bring joy, creativity, and environmental awareness to every convention they attend.
Their mission is simple: create, inspire, and make cosplay sustainable for everyone.

Sable
Hi, I’m Sable — a sustainable maker, performer, cosplayer, and disability advocate. I’ve loved theater for five years and started building my own cosplays in 2024. Living with POTS and juvenile fibromyalgia inspired me to advocate for accessibility in cosplay. My goal is to help make the community welcoming to everyone.

Mimi
Hi, I’m Mimi — a creative cosplayer, performer, and maker who loves bringing characters to life. I’ve been involved in cosplay for 2 years and enjoy crafting costumes using sewing, foam, and repurposed materials. I love helping other kids discover cosplay and reminding them that creativity belongs to everyone.
